BLANC, Julia *

Actress (1915)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Julia Blanc appeared in Thanhouser films in 1915.

Biographical Notes: Prior to coming to Thanhouser in July 1915, Julia Blanc, a Californian, had been on the stage at least since the early 1890s. Her career included work with Edwin Thanhouser's Academy Theatre in Milwaukee, where she appeared in 1899. Later she was seen in numerous other plays elsewhere, including The Witch, with Winthrop Ames' company, character acting with Marie Dressler in The Mix-Up, in The Conspiracy for Daniel Frohman, and in The Dawn of a To-morrow. She appeared in Thanhouser films during a time when Edwin Thanhouser was augmenting the Thanhouser players with actors and actresses from the stage and from other studios.

Note: Her surname was misspelled as "Blane" in some notices.
