REYNOLDS, Edna M. *

Actress (date?)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Edna M. Reynolds was an actress with Thanhouser at one time, according to the October 1916 Motion Picture News Studio Directory.

Biographical Notes: Born in New York City on February 10, 1888, Edna M. Reynolds was educated at the Normal College in the same city. She followed a stage career, playing with repertory and stock companies, including four years at the Hippodrome in New York City. Her screen career involved playing character parts for various studios, including Thanhouser, Centaur, Crystal, Universal, World, and Vim. It is probable that she was best known as a comedienne, for in 1916 she was in at least a dozen Vim comedies. In 1914 she became engaged to Thanhouser character actor Riley Chamberlin. The intended union ended in a dispute (which is recounted in the present work under the biographical entry for Chamberlin). The October 1916 Motion Picture News Studio Directory noted that Edna M. Reynolds was 5'5" tall, weighed 150 pounds, had a fair complexion, and had brown hair and dark brown eyes. At the time she was with Vim, whose studio address was 750 Riverside Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida. Her home address was 29 West 126th Street, New York City. Her pastimes included swimming, automobiling, reading literature, rowing, skating, and bicycle riding.
