EASTON, Henry Clement

Director (1915)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Henry Clement Easton was a director with Thanhouser in 1915.

Biographical Notes: Born in Summit, New Jersey in 1879, Henry Clement Easton was educated at Worcester Academy and at Cornell. Early in his career he was a teacher, author, publisher, soldier, laborer, and clerk. To his friends he was known as "Clem." His motion picture career included directing for Edison, Universal (as a director of William Garwood), Thanhouser, and Essanay. He joined Thanhouser in 1915, after leaving a position with Universal in July. He remained with the New Rochelle studio for only about a month, during which time he directed From the River's Depths. The New Rochelle Pioneer, August 28, 1915, reported that he was then a director for Essanay. The 1917 edition of the Motion Picture News Studio Directory gave his studio address as Essanay in Chicago.
