DANIELS, Louise *

Actress (1916)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Louise Daniels appeared in the 1916 Thanhouser release of For Uncle Sam's Navy. She also appeared in publicity under her married name, Louise Daniels Wirth.

Biographical Notes: Louise Daniels Wirth was the niece of Secretary of the Navy Josephus Daniels. In Thanhouser's For Uncle Sam's Navy she played the role of the niece of the Secretary of the Navy, her real-life situation. Mrs. Wirth was prominent in Washington, D.C. social and diplomatic circles. On Saturday morning, April 10, 1915, in Washington, her aunt, Mrs. Josephus Daniels, acted as a chaperone for a reception and special entertainment for orphans, staged by Marie Eline, earlier known as the Thanhouser Kid. Evidently the Daniels-Wirth family had ties with Thanhouser prior to the 1916 naval film.
