DAVENPORT, Blanche *

Actress (1916)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Blanche Davenport worked with Thanhouser in 1916.

Biographical Notes: Born in London, England, Blanche Davenport was educated at Alpaugh College there. For many years she was with the Aborn Opera Company. Her screen career, which she claimed began at Biograph in a film titled Her Own Way, included playing character parts of older women. Miss Davenport was in films for Famous Players (The Innocent Lie), Pathé, Triangle (American - That's All), and, in 1916, Thanhouser, for whom she acted in several features. For Triangle she appeared in American - That's All. A 1916 listing noted that she was 5'3" tall, weighed 139 pounds, had a fair complexion, and blonde hair and blue eyes. At the time she lived at 636 West 172nd Street in New York City. Her pastimes included horseback riding and painting. Blanche Davenport died on October 17, 1921.
