ROBSON, Robert *

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Robert Robson appeared in Thanhouser films in 1914.

Biographical Notes: Robert Robson was born Robert Erich in Neenah, Wisconsin in 1870. He engaged in an acting career, with his first stage appearance occurring in 1895 in Kalamazoo, Michigan in A Racing Romance. At one time he was seen with Annie Russell at Wallack's Theatre and was in the original stage company of William A. Brady's production of Way Down East. In 1911 he was seen in The Lily, staged by David Belasco, and, later, he was leading man to Frances Starr in Marie Odile. In 1927 he was in Wall Street, on Broadway, and in 1929 he acted in The Guinea Pig and The Unsophisticates. His final appearance before the footlights was in the 1939 production of Pastoral. About that time, Robert Robson numbered the king of Sweden among his friends. He was an actor with Thanhouser in 1914, but little publicity concerning his film efforts ever reached print. Robert Robson died on June 3, 1947, at his home at 261 West 21st Street, New York City.
