BURT, Ida *

Actress (1915)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Ida Burt appeared in a Thanhouser film in 1915.

Biographical Notes: Ida Burt was born in New Orleans in 1852. She played many character roles on the stage over the years, and was managed by Tony Pastor in New York City, by Harry Williams in Pittsburgh, and James Kernan in Washington and Baltimore. At the New York Hippodrome she was seen in Under Many Flags. Her other stage credits included acting with Alice Brady in Bless Your Sister, and a 1928 appearance in Mae West's production of Diamond Lil. She worked briefly with Thanhouser and was seen in a 1915 film. Ida Burt died in New York City on October 26, 1941. She was interred in the Actors' Fund Plot in Evergreen Cemetery in Brooklyn.
