Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Ruth Byles was an actress for Thanhouser for a short period of time, according to a listings in the 1917 and 1918 Motion Picture News Studio Directory.

Biographical Notes: Ruth Byles followed a stage career and played in The Melting Pot, Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch, and other productions, including work with B.F. Keith's stock company. On the screen she was seen in pictures produced by Kalem, Edison, and Thanhouser. She was 5'5" tall, of medium complexion, and had dark hair and hazel eyes. In 1917 and 1918 she was represented by Edward Small, Inc., whose offices were in the Putnam Building, New York City.
