GRAY, Robert *

Actor (1916)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Robert Gray was an actor with Thanhouser for a brief time in 1916.

Biographical Notes: Robert Henry Gray was born in Houlton, Maine and was educated in Portland in the same state. His screen career included playing character roles with Western Lubin and Lasky, in such films as Sweet Kitty Bellairs, Public Opinion, and Unprotected. He appeared in the 1916 Thanhouser release of The Flight of the Duchess. The October 1916 Motion Picture News Studio Directory noted that he was 5'11" tall, weighed 170 pounds, and had dark hair and hazel eyes. At the time he worked for Lasky in Hollywood, and his home address was 4218 Bernill Avenue, Los Angeles, California.

Note: Film historian Billy H. Doyle records a Robert Henry Gray who was in the entertainment business. He was born in Oakland, California on July 17, 1891, and died from a fractured skull when he slipped from a fire escape in Los Angeles, April 26, 1934.
