LA MOTTE, Gene *

Actor (1916-1917)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Gene LaMotte was an actor with Thanhouser in 1916 and early 1917.

Biographical Notes: Gene LaMotte was born in Champaign, Illinois and was educated in Chicago. He followed a stage career for five or more years and was seen in The Heir to the Hoorah, The Right of Way, as the lead in Graustark, and in other productions. In films he worked with Frohman (The Conquest of Canaan), Art Drama (Rainbow), Thanhouser in 1916 and early 1917, and Mutual (Mary Moreland). In early 1917 he was also with Frohman in New York. Gene LaMotte was 5'4" tall, weighed 125 pounds, and had brown hair and hazel eyes. In 1917-1919 his home address was in Bayside, Long Island, New York.

Note: In a few notices his name appeared erroneously as "Jeanne" LaMotte (in The Morning Telegraph, January 14, 1917, for example).
