FORSTER, Oscar W. *

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Oscar W. Forster was an actor and assistant director with Thanhouser circa 1915-1917.

Biographical Notes: Born in New York City on February 17, 1885, Oscar W. Forster was educated in the public schools there. His stage career included dramatic stock and vaudeville as well as sketches for club entertainment and other small audiences. Oscar W. Forsters screen career included playing juvenile parts for Edison (The Lonely Road, Vanity Fair, etc.), Solax (I Should Worry), Eclair (Man of the Hour), Thanhouser, and Champion (A Nights Adventure). For Famous Players he was in Little Miss George Washington, Jr. By 1918 his specialties were society, military, Shakespearean, and Japanese roles. In addition to playing in films, Forster was a musician and artist. Directories published in 1916-1918 noted that he was 57" tall, weighed 135 pounds, and had brown hair and brown eyes. At the time his home address was 2241 Webster Avenue, Bronx, New York.
