STEVENS, A. Leo *

Film subject (1914)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: A. Leo Stevens, an aeronaut, supervised a balloon ascension with Thanhouser actor Alfred Norton as a passenger and was with him in the balloon during filming. (See Norton biography for more information.) At one time the Thanhouser Film Corporation contemplated making a series of films based on Stevens' aerial activities, but nothing came of the idea.

Biographical Notes: Note: An actor named Leo Stevens began his career in the late 19th century. One of his earliest engagements was in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1912 he and his wife, Helen Jessie Moore, were on stage with the Columbia Burlesquers, and announced the intention to split their act the following season. In 1914, this Leo Stevens was on the road in The Girls from Happyland.
