MIXX, Emmet

Scenario writer (1915-1917)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Emmet Mixx furnished scenarios for several Thanhouser films released in the 1915-1917 years.

Biographical Notes: Emmet Mixx was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1869. His early career included work in such diverse occupations as a magazine writer, newspaperman, hunter, trapper, explorer, artisan in several trades, and photographer. For Thanhouser he furnished scenarios for several films released from 1915 through 1917. The writer was 5'9" tall, weighed 180 pounds, and had light hair and gray eyes. He lived at 48 Lafayette Street in New Rochelle in the autumn of 1916. By autumn 1917 he had moved to 229 Bay Seventh Street, Brooklyn, New York, according to the 1918 edition of the Motion Picture Studio Directory. His pastimes included riding, swimming, and writing.

Notes: 1. His surname was misspelled as "Mix" in some notices. 2. The October 1916 edition of the Motion Picture News Studio Directory lists World Weary as a Thanhouser film for which he wrote the script. Presumably, this was a working title for another film.
