CARR, Catherine

Scenario writer (1915)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Catherine Carr wrote the scenario for a film made in the Thanhouser studio and released under the Mutual name, titled The Seventh Noon. The scenario was adapted from a work by Frederick Orin Bartlett.

Biographical Notes: Catherine Carr was born in 1879. She followed a career as a screen writer and produced scenarios for many companies. In 1914 her book, The Art of Photoplay Writing, was published by Jordan. She was never a member of the Thanhouser studio staff, but, rather, submitted a scenario to the studio. In the silent film era she moved from New York to Hollywood with the Jesse Lasky Company. Later she was connected with Universal, Fox, and Paramount. She died in Hollywood, California on January 18, 1941 and was survived by two sons.
