Volume II: Filmography

THE FLOORWALKER'S TRIUMPH

January 24, 1913 (Friday)

Length: 1 reel

Character: Comedy-drama

Cast: Harry Benham (the floorwalker)

Notes: 1. Originally, Her Fireman was scheduled to be released on January 24, 1912, but after the Thanhouser fire Her Fireman (which had nothing to do with the Thanhouser fire) was moved forward to January 21, 1913, and The Floorwalker's Triumph was rescheduled for January 24, 1913. Little about this film ever appeared in advance notices, and no synopsis of it was printed in The Billboard, The Moving Picture News, or The Moving Picture World. 2. The review of the film in the February 5, 1913 issue of The New York Dramatic Mirror gave an erroneous release date of February 24, 1913.

REVIEW, The New York Dramatic Mirror, February 5, 1913:

Two rival stores are deserted by shoppers. The proprietor of the women's store hires a handsome young floor walker, while the boss of the 'gents' furnishing establishment across the road engages a pretty actress as a magnet. Business picks up wonderfully until the floor walker and the actress fall in love. They are both fired but they get their revenge by starting a store of their own. It is a comedy that wins many smiles.
