GOULD, S. Charles *

Actor (1914-1917)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: S. Charles Gould was an actor with Thanhouser, circa 1914-1917.

Biographical Notes: S. Charles Gould was born in New York City and educated in Washington, D.C. He followed a stage career for nine years, after which he entered films, playing with World (The Boss, The Face in the Moonlight, After Dark, etc.), Universal (Vendetta, etc.), and character and heavy parts for Thanhouser. In early 1916 he lived at 693 Jackson Avenue in New York City. The October 1916 Motion Picture News Studio Directory noted that he was 6' tall and weighed 181 pounds. He considered himself to be an all-around athlete. The 1918 edition stated that he was still with Thanhouser in New Rochelle, but this represented unrevised earlier information.
