DOYLE, Larry *

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Larry Doyle, a player with the New York Giants baseball team, appeared in the Thanhouser-Princess film, The Final Game, which depicted highlights from the last game of the 1913 World Series, played in New York City on October 11, 1913.

Biographical Notes: Lawrence Joseph Doyle was born on July 31, 1886 in Caseyville, Illinois. He was known as "Larry" and "Laughing Larry." He played major league professional baseball for 14 years and participated in three World Series contests (1911, 1912, and 1913). He was 5'10" tall and weighed 165 pounds. In the final game of the 1913 World Series, filmed by Thanhouser, he played second base and was at bat four times. Larry Doyle died on March 1, 1974 at Saranac Lake, New York.
