LAW, Burton *

Actor (1913)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Burton Law was an actor with Thanhouser in the 1913 era.

Biographical Notes: Burton Law was born on October 22, 1877 in Ouray, Colorado, a mining camp in the Rockies. After graduating from Stern's Academy in Chicago, in his late teenage years he followed a stage career in burlesque and comedy in Chicago, later playing stock in Salt Lake City and traveling with several road companies. His film career included playing heavy and character parts for Powers, Thanhouser, and Universal (The Broken Coin, Sign of the Crescent, Graft, and others, including The Sea Lily, for which he wrote the scenario). Directories published 1916-1918 noted that he was with Universal at time, was 5'10" tall, weighed 170 pounds, and had a dark complexion, black hair, and brown eyes, and lived at the Ellison Apartments in Venice, California. His favorite pastimes included horseback riding, swimming, and other athletics. Burton Law died on November 2, 1963.
