Biographical Notes: The New Rochelle Evening Standard, June 2, 1917, carried this item: "Policeman Virrell has reported at police headquarters that Gustave Umter, who was employed at the Thanhouser garage on Harrison Street, is missing. He is 60 years of age and stands about five feet, eight inches. The detective bureau is on the lookout for the man. No reason for his going away is advanced."
