MINDIL, Phil

Executive, publicist (1913-1914)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Phil Mindil worked as a publicist for the Mutual Film Corporation in 1913 and 1914, resigning in June of the latter year. While so employed, he assisted with publicity and advertising for certain Thanhouser films, including the serial, The Million Dollar Mystery.

Biographical Notes: Philip K. Mindil was born in Philadelphia on August 3, 1874. He entered the newspaper field in 1892 and worked in Chicago and New York, becoming well known as a publicist. In 1897 he married Rosmonde West. The union produced a son, who was killed in France in World War I. Toward the end of his career, Philip K. Mindil was dramatic editor of The New York Tribune. He died in New York City on October 22, 1920.
