Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Fred Abbott appeared in Falstaff comedies in 1916.

Biographical Notes: It is believed that the Fred Abbott who acted for Thanhouser was the following person: Frederick Abbott was born in London, Ontario, Canada on April 20, 1865, and attended London Collegiate Institute and Columbia University. During the 1889-1890 years he studied privately with F. Townsend Southwick, of the New York School of Expression. In London, Ontario, he was director in 1890-1892 of the Department of Expression at the School of Elocution and Oratory, and in 1892-1894 was principal. During the next decade or so he worked summers and other times with Baylor University, the State Normal School (Alva, Oklahoma), Helicon Hall School for Boys (Englewood, New Jersey), Young Men's Hebrew Association (instructor in expression at the Harlem branch), Y.M.C.A. (New York City), Wesleyan University (Middletown, Connecticut), and, beginning in 1905, the State Normal School, Warrensburg, Missouri. On September 11, 1905 he married Kathleen Murphy, of New York City.
