MORAN, Billy *

Actor (1916)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Billy Moran had a bit part in a film produced by Thanhouser in Jacksonville in 1916. He was an extra who worked for various local companies.

Biographical Notes: Tracey Hollingworth's "Flivers [sic] From Film Folks" column in The Florida Metropolis, May 3, 1916, carried the following: "'Things are not always what they seem,' said Billy Moran, of the Florida Movie Bureau, yesterday. 'For instance, the other day in that restaurant scene of Cooper and McNish's of the Thanhouser Company, I was supposed to throw a handful of soft dough into Cooper's face, but on account of my perspective being wrong, and the smoke from a smoke pot getting into my eyes, I missed my mark and hit a beautiful young lady who was not in the picture at all square in the face. Of course, she was mad. It took her two hours to pick the dough off." The film referred to was released as Advertisementers.
