(BENNETT, Frank) *

Actor (1914)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Frank Bennett was an actor with Reliance and appeared in the 1914 Reliance film, released through Thanhouser, of McCarn Plays Fate. He was not otherwise associated with the Thanhouser Film Corporation.

Biographical Notes: Frank Fisher Bennett was born on September 15, 1890 in Bakersfield, California. He received his later education at the Frohman Dramatic School in New York City, after which he went into vaudeville, where he appeared in The Half Wit and other productions. His film career, in which he specialized in juvenile leads, is believed to have started with Vitagraph in 1913 (Love Laughs at Locksmiths, etc.). Later, he was with Universal, Reliance-Majestic (For His Master, All for the Sake of Kate, The Dishonored Medal, etc.), and Fine Arts (Sold for Marriage, Reggie Mixes In, Casey at the Bat, Stranded, etc.).

In 1916 his studio address was Fine Arts, Hollywood. He was married to actress Billie West (deceased on June 7, 1967), who appeared in silent films in the teens. Frank Bennett died in Warren Township, New Jersey on April 29, 1957.
