DAVIDSON, William *

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: William Davidson appeared in a Thanhouser film in 1917.

Biographical Notes: William Beatman Davidson was born on June 16, 1888 in Dobbs Ferry, New York. He followed a career in law and banking, later going on the stage. By 1914 he was in films with Vitagraph, after which he went to Rolfe and Fox. His screen credits include For the Honor of the Crew, Her Debt of Honor, The Price of Malice, Dorian's Divorce, The Child of Destiny, The Pretenders, In the Diplomatic Service, White Raven, Modern Cinderella, and others. William Davidson appeared in the 1917 Thanhouser release of Mary Lawson's Secret.

The 1918 Motion Picture Studio Directory noted that he was 6'1" tall, weighed 195 pounds, and had dark hair and blue eyes. At the time his mailing address was given as the Green Room Club, New York City, and his studio address was care of Metro in the same city. William Davidson remained in films until his death in Santa Monica, California on September 27, 1947.
