MAZZULLO, Amelia *

Actress (1911-1914)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Amelia Mazzullo, a young girl, was an extra at the Thanhouser studio circa 1911-1914.

Biographical Notes: Amelia Braca, whose maiden name was Amelia Mazzullo, wrote to the author on October 24, 1988: "Received your letter and was glad to hear from you. Most of the children who were in the movies with me have moved or passed away. I was an extra around 1911 and also in 1914. My maiden name was Mazzullo. I remember the [1913] Thanhouser fire. At Hudson Park they shot a lot of movies. I also remember the horses and the electric car going up Huguenot Street and Main Street to make movies uptown. Across from the studio [on Main Street] was a large parcel of land owned by the Conklin family, and the actors and actresses used to eat their lunch sitting on the wall and taking in the sun. The [studio] building was not fancy and had a bare floor and no doors."
