Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Jack Snyder played Western roles in Thanhouser films at one time, according to the 1918 Motion Picture Studio Directory.

Biographical Notes: Jack Snyder was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1891 and was educated at Columbia College in New York City. He followed a career in vaudeville, after which he entered films. His screen activities included acting for Pathé (Kick In, Pearl of the Army), Metro (Black Butterfly, Romeo and Juliet), Artcraft (Less Than the Dust), Kay-Bee - Triangle (The Food Gamblers, Cassidy), Fox (Les Miserables), Vitagraph (For France), and Goldwyn (The Cinderella Man). The 1917 edition of the Motion Picture News Studio Directory noted that he "played Western roles with Thanhouser and underworld roles with Metro, Fox, and Pathé." For Thanhouser he must have played minor roles, for he was not featured in publicity. In 1917-1918 his pastimes were horseback riding and swimming, and his home address was 149 South 4th Street, Brooklyn, New York.
