COSGROVE, Larry Sheldon *

Actor (1917)

Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Larry Sheldon Cosgrove acted with Thanhouser at one time, according to a listing in the 1917 edition of the Motion Picture News Studio Directory.

Biographical Notes: Larry Sheldon Cosgrove was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1882 and was educated at Calvert Hall in the same city. His early career included appearances on the stage with the Holden Dramatic Company in repertory, in Forepaugh stock, with Digby Bell in Jupiter, and roles in Isle of Spice, King Midas, and The South Before the War. He was also with the Columbia stock company.

The 1917 edition of the Motion Picture News Studio Directory noted that his screen career was with Biograph, Kolb & Dill, Klaw & Erlanger, Monrovia, Thanhouser, and Selig, and that he was 5'10" tall, weighed 165 pounds, and had a light complexion, brown hair and blue eyes. His recreational activities included swimming and horseback riding. At the time his home address was 1232 1-2 West 9th Street, Los Angeles, and his studio affiliation was with Selig in the same city.
