Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Joseph Yanner was an actor with Thanhouser at one time, according to a listing in the April 12, 1917 edition of the Motion Picture News Studio Directory.

Biographical Notes: Joseph Yanner, born in 1879. Around the turn of the century he was a stage actor with the Woodward Stock Company in Kansas City and was seen on stage at the Auditorium Theatre. In his early career he also worked with a grocery company. In 1906 he was in the New York City production of Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch. Later he was seen in Peg o' My Heart, Excuse Me, Strongheart, and other productions. For several years he appeared in dramatic sketches on the Orpheum circuit. Going into films he was on the screen for Vitagraph, Kleine, and Thanhouser. In 1917 he was represented by Ouida Bergere, whose offices were in the Aeolian Building, New York City. Joseph Yanner died in Kansas City, Missouri on December 12, 1949.
