Thanhouser Career Synopsis: At one time Simon P. Gillies was an actor with Thanhouser, according to the October 1916 edition of the Motion Picture News Studio Directory.

Biographical Notes: Simon P. Gillies was born in 1885. His screen career included work with Biograph, Metro, Edison, and Thanhouser, for whom he played character parts. The October 1916 Motion Picture News Studio Directory noted that he was 6'1" tall, weighed 240 pounds, and had curly brown hair and a fair complexion. At the time his home address was 215 West 108th Street, New York City, and he was represented by the Amalgamated Photoplay Service, 220 West 42nd Street, New York City. The 1918 directory gave his address as care of the New York Athletic Club.
