Thanhouser Career Synopsis: Charles Brooks was seen in the 1916 Thanhouser release of King Lear.

Biographical Notes: Note: Could the Thanhouser actor have been the Charles Brooks who died at the age of 84, in Cincinnati on July 7, 1952? At the time he was president of the Coney Island Company, which operated a Cincinnati amusement park founded by his father. His obituary appeared in The New York Times, July 10, 1952. Or, could the Thanhouser actor be the Charles Stephen Brooks who died in Cleveland on June 29, 1933. Born in 1878 in Cleveland, where he subsequently spent most of his life. During his career he was an author, playwright, and manager of his family printing business. Detailed obituaries appeared in The New York Times and The New York Herald Tribune, June 30, 1933.
